moxi laser in edina

At Skin Rejuvenation Clinic, we love a great laser facial treatment as much as anyone else, but sometimes downtime doesn’t fit with a busy schedule. Plus, many younger people don’t need deep lasers to maintain their youthful appearance.

So what’s the solution?

Introducing: Moxi laser.

The Moxi laser has worked wonders for rejuvenating the skin without downtime or extreme side effects. Achieving your skincare goals has never been easier!

Let’s talk about the technology behind the Moxi laser

We can’t even begin to touch on the benefits of Moxi without highlighting the technology that makes it so great!

Moxi is the latest and greatest fractional wavelength device gentle enough to cater to various skin types while powerful enough to bring actual results. Made by Sciton, the revolutionary company behind the Halo™ and BBL™ devices, Moxi truly serves as a one-of-a-kind facial that even works in the summer months!

During a treatment, laser energy creates micro-coagulation zones within the skin’s tissue; you can think of these as tiny little wounds. The body then repairs these wounds and replaces damaged cells with new ones. The result? A smoother, more even-toned complexion. As a non-ablative laser (heats the deep layers of skin without harming the outer layers), Moxi is so gentle it comes with minimal recovery and downtime.

What does the Moxi laser treat?

One of the great things about Moxi is its amazing versatility! Whether you struggle with fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots, sun damage, and more, Moxi’s laser technology can address it all.

What’s more?

Since Moxi acts as a milder laser treatment, it works great for almost all skin types. For example, if you love the idea of a Halo laser but your skin doesn’t need that much power, Moxi provides similar results for those with mild-to-moderate issues.

Yes, you are probably an ideal candidate for Moxi Laser in Edina

At Skin Rejuvenation Clinic, our skincare experts absolutely adore Moxi for a simple reason: Many of our patients see great results! Regardless of skin type or tone, this non-ablative laser resurfacing treatment can help you gain the skin of your dreams!

Designed with everyone in mind, Moxi works great for:

  • Younger people who don’t have many age-related skin concerns yet (hello, aging prevention)
  • Older people who want a little TLC without downtime
  • People who are new to laser treatments and skin aesthetics
  • Active people who live a busy lifestyle

You don’t need to have a specific skin type for Moxi to work well for you. Moxi even helps men with their skincare goals! However, if you have more severe skin concerns and aren’t worried about procedure time and recovery, you may benefit from a stronger laser. Of course, you can always start with Moxi and work your way up

If you ever have concerns on whether you’re a candidate, you can always speak to one of our aestheticians. For a more in-depth examination, we highly recommend scheduling a consultation. By understanding your skin concerns and goals, we can help you find the right solution for your needs.

What to expect during your Moxi laser resurfacing treatment

The Moxi laser process is probably a lot more simple than you may expect. In fact, you can even get this 30 minute facial during your lunch break, making it the perfect fit for any busy lifestyle.

Step One: Consultation

During your one-on-one consultation with Skin Rejuvenation Clinic, we will take time to thoroughly understand your goals, examine your skin, and build a custom Moxi treatment plan. We can even recommend other aesthetic procedures to give you more well-rounded results (more on this later)!

Step Two: Preparation

After determining your candidacy, we will schedule your appointment for your first Moxi treatment! The day you come in, we will prep the treatment area by cleansing your skin for a fresh, clean slate. We also offer a topical numbing cream if you prefer.

Step Three: Treatment

Great news! We customize your Moxi treatment based on your needs, not anyone else’s. We don’t believe in cookie-cutter procedures here. As we run the Moxi laser over the treatment area(s), you may feel a slight warming sensation, which means the laser is doing its job. Once complete, you can apply makeup right away and return to your regular activities. We typically recommend 1 to 3 treatments for the best results.

Step Four: Aftercare, Healing, & Results

While Moxi comes with little to no downtime, you should still focus on taking care of your skin! In the following days, make sure you wear sunscreen and stay out of the sun (Pro Tip: You should wear daily SPF, anyway!).

It’s always best to be extra gentle with your skin for the first few days. After your Moxi laser session, we will give you more specific aftercare instructions.

One of the most important things to consider after treatment is skin care. Think of at-home skin care as insurance for your treatment; it ensures your amazing results last and even improve as time goes on.

We highly recommend speaking with your aesthetician or one of our skincare experts to help you build a routine that works best for your lifestyle and goals.

Like any aesthetic treatment, Moxi results vary from person to person. You may experience some slight pinkness, redness, or tiny dots called “mendz,” but they shouldn’t deter you from the public eye! You won’t have to worry about downtime; however, complete skin healing can take 3 to 4 days.

Throughout healing, those tiny dots may darken and feel more textured. But don’t worry! They will eventually slough off to reveal your glowing complexion. After completing the recommended series of initial treatments, you will experience a noticeable improvement in your skin tone, texture, signs of aging, and overall clarity.

The answers to your Moxi laser frequently asked questions

We totally get it—undergoing a new procedure may seem scary. But Moxi definitely isn’t something you should be afraid of! We’re firm believers in educating our patients so they know exactly what the treatment will do for them. Therefore, we have compiled a few questions we get the most:

Does the Moxi laser hurt?

Most patients find that the Moxi laser doesn’t necessarily hurt, but there may be some discomfort. This does vary from patient to patient. Some experience no discomfort while others find it to be mildly uncomfortable. We offer numbing to provide the best possible care based on your tolerance. During and after the treatment, you may feel a little warm; however, it will subside quickly.

How will my skin look right after treatment?

Your skin may be red for the first day. On the second and third day, as the dead skin cells move toward the surface, you may notice fine little dark dots. Your skin will also experience mild peeling and have a sandpaper-like feel on days two and three.

May I use makeup to hide the redness?

You may apply makeup after your Moxi treatment. We offer Oxygenetix, which allows the skin to breathe. It is also an excellent cover up that looks natural.

Can I peel off the brown spots to help with healing?

No, we do not recommend you peel off the brown spots (or anything for that matter). Aggressive exfoliation during the recovery process could negatively impact healing and your results. However, you may gently brush your skin with a washcloth to cleanse and reduce flaking.

When will I see my Moxi laser results?

Within a week, you may notice improvements after a single Moxi treatment! Your full results and radiant skin will emerge in about three months. Many people will require multiple treatments to achieve the look they are after; the number of treatments will depend on your goals and the amount of correction needed. Most Skin Rejuvenation patients gain the most benefit from a series of three treatments spaced one month apart. They follow this with quarterly treatments (or more) throughout the year.

Can Moxi work on darker skin tones?

Yes, Moxi works on darker skin tones. Since the laser isn’t as strong or invasive as its counterparts, it lessens the risk of hyper or hypopigmentation after treatment. Of course, if you ever have specific questions or concerns based on your skin tone, our aestheticians will be happy to help.

Can I combine Moxi with other aesthetic treatments?

Of course you can combine Moxi with other aesthetic treatments! Many patients opt to create a full spectrum treatment plan that includes procedures such as Forever Young BBL, dermal fillers, HydraFacial, Botox, and more.

Combining treatments not only provides well-rounded results, it can also help you achieve your goals faster. Keep in mind that you don’t want to get a bunch of treatments at once, so it’s best to stick with the plan your aesthetician builds for you.
