Halo Laser near Minneapolis
Skin Rejuvenation Clinic has done more Halo treatments than anyone in the world!
This dual laser (made by Sciton) is a fantastic treatment for problematic skin texture and tone. It decreases fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating collagen. It will decrease pore size and give the skin a “Halo” glow. It also improves or eliminates sun spots (age spots, “liver spots”), and unwanted discoloration. Our acne patients have seen significant improvements in their scarring, both in discoloration and skin depressions. It is perfect for the face and neck and other body areas. We like to call this treatment “the game changer” because the results are amazing!
Adding PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatments after a Halo treatment permits the growth factors to access the deeper layers of the skin, enhancing the effects of collagen growth and cell turnover. Additionally, PRP actually speeds the healing process.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are Halo treatments uncomfortable?
This varies from patient to patient. Some have no discomfort. Some find it to be mildly uncomfortable. Others find it to feel very hot and prickly.
- How long will I be warm?
The first ten to fifteen minutes are the most uncomfortable. Gradually the heat dissipates and will be gone in about two to three hours.
- What is used for pain?
Before the procedure, we apply a topical numbing cream and for most patients, it is sufficient to control pain. If needed, we can offer you Nitrous Oxide (“laughing gas”). We can also prescribe a mild relaxing medication if needed.
- How will I look when the right after the treatment?
You will be red for the first three days (longer if the treatment is more aggressive) and feel as though you have a sunburn. On the second and third day, as the dead skin cells move toward the top layer of the skin, you will notice fine little dark dots. Your skin will have some mild peeling and feel a little like sandpaper on days two and three. You may also experience swelling, especially on the upper cheeks and under the eyes.
Note: If the Halo body treatment is performed, the redness and small brown dots may be present for two weeks before resolving.
- What do I use for after care?
We will provide complimentary skin care products with instructions to use for the next two weeks.
- May I use makeup to hide the redness?
You may purchase our Oxygentix makeup to use after the Halo procedure. This is the only makeup product recommended as it allows the skin to breathe. It is also an excellent cover up that looks natural.
- How do I handle swelling if it occurs?
We recommend staying upright as much as possible. For the three days following the Halo sleeping on a stack of pillows or elevating the bed is helpful. If you are a person who is prone to swelling, taking allergy medication (such as Allegra, Claritin, Xyzal, or Zyrtec) the day of the treatment and for a few days after treatment will be beneficial. Occasionally oral steroids may be prescribed for significant swelling.
- Can I peel off those little brown dots?
We do not recommend manual, aggressive exfoliating of the skin as it is healing. However, gentle brushing with a washcloth when cleansing the skin is acceptable to reduce flaking.
- When do I see the "Halo Glow"?
You will see the Halo glow 1-2 weeks after the treatment. The stimulation of hyaluronic acid, besides better light reflectivity of the skin, contribute to this wonderful result. You will continue to appreciate pleasant changes for the next three months and beyond.
- How often can I do a Halo?
We recommend waiting at least one month between Halo procedures.
- Is the Halo good for darker skin tones?
Yes, we can use the Halo can on most patients with darker skin.
