- Schedule your annual pelvic exam with your women’s health provider before getting treated.
- If you have any abnormal bleeding, new pelvic pain, or changes in your health, contact your women’s health provider before your diva treatment.
- Call the clinic if you have symptoms of a yeast infection or UTI, such as itching, pain while urinating. blood in urine or abnormal/foul smelling discharge.
- Let your provider know before your treatment if you have a history of genital herpes.
- You are not a candidate for the diva if you are pregnant. A urinary pregnancy test will be done before your treatment, regardless of your birth control method.
Post Care Instructions

- Avoid anything in the vagina for 72 hours after treatment. This includes (sex, tampons, baths etc.) Showering is okay.
- Spotting and tenderness are normal after the procedure.
Contact the office if you have significant bleeding or pain.

How long does the diVa procedure take?
diVa’s ergonomic design allows for patient comfort and ease of use. Each treatment takes 5 to 8 minutes to fractionally resurface the full length of a vaginal canal.
How many diVa treatments are recommended?
Patients may choose between 1 and 3 procedures spaced every 4 weeks apart.
What do patients experience during the diVa treatment?
Patients will experience slight pressure against the vaginal wall during laser resurfacing. The treatment is fast with minimal discomfort. Some patients may experience increased sensitivity near the vaginal opening for a few seconds during treatment.
What do patients experience in the 48 hours following the diVa treatment?
Patients may return to their daily routine with minimal to no discharge, spotting, or discomfort; however, they should avoid vaginal penetration for up to 48 hours.
Is sedation necessary?
No, the laser resurfacing treatment is easy and completed in an outpatient setting. We apply a topical anesthetic for increased comfort.
