One Week Before Your Procedure
- Avoid alcohol of any kind, as well as smoking. This will help speed your recovery and provide better treatment results.
- Stop taking vitamin E, supplements such as Fish Oil, Krill, Garlic, Chili Ginseng, Ginger & Green teas
- Any Aspirin based products such as Ibuprofen should be avoided. Inform the provider if you are taking any anti-inflammatory medications (e.g., Naprosyn) or blood thinning medication (e.g., Warfarin).
What to Avoid After
- Avoid heavy exercises for 2 weeks, this causes extreme facial movements.
- No facial massages for 2 weeks.
- Do not touch or wash your face for 30 minutes.
- Do not wear makeup for the first 12 hours after your treatment
- Do not pull down on your face for 4 weeks.
- Sleep on the back for 3-4 days.
- Do not chew gum for 2 weeks.
- Limiting facial movements will help to lift threads to stay in place, so no dental work unless strictly necessary.
- Avoid heat in treatment areas like saunas, IPL lasers, or radio frequency treatment for 30 days.
- Avoid medication that affects the blood clotting effects like fish oils, and vitamins C, A & E for 7 days.
Normal Response
- Bruising and swelling normally can be treated with counterarnica topical.
- Most discomfort occurs in the first 24 to 48 hours. Place ice on very gently just in case of bruising.
- Stinging, “pulling”, and itchy sensations will decrease at about 3 to 5 weeks.
- Post-procedure discomfort medication to use: Tylenol – helpful for post-procedure for 7 to 10 days.
